MT23-055: Histopathological and infectious disease findings of cats diagnosed with gastrointestinal eosinophilic sclerosing fibroplasia

Gastrointestinal eosinophilic sclerosing fibroplasia is a recently described and increasingly recognized disease of cats that is difficult to treat effectively. The disease is poorly understood, and has some cancer -like and non cancer-like properties. This study will investigate samples of biopsies in detail using histologic and molecular tests and attempt to identify bacterial, fungal, or parasitic causes, as well as devising a grading system and factors associated with survival.
