EC24-140: Investigation of tryptophan and kynurenines as predictive markers to monitor response to antiviral treatment in cats with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is now a potentially treatable disease with many feline patients progressing to remission during an initial 84-day treatment period. However, some cats fail to go into remission. This study aims to identify products of metabolism in cats with FIP (compared to healthy cats) and identify lab values that may help to predict a FIP patient’s odds at long-term health status and survival, following antiviral treatment before the (sometimes costly) decision to treat it made.
