EC23-OC1: “Investigation on the virulence and pathogenesis of the FCoV-23 outbreak in Cyprus-Part 1

In the past year, there has been a dramatic increase in cases of FIP on the island of Cyprus. FIP cases increased by a factor of 20 from 2022 to the first third of 2023. As FIP is generally not directly contagious, this outbreak raises severe concerns for a new variant of this fatal disease. This study will investigate genetic changes to the virus that have led to this disease, as well as antibodies to the infection and inflammatory protein responses to it. (Bria Fund)
