EveryCat Health Foundation has received the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid (formerly known as GuideStar), the world’s largest source of information on non-profit organizations.
A Seal of Transparency is important because it demonstrates a non-profit organization’s commitment to openness and accountability, which builds trust and confidence with potential donors and supporters. It essentially acts as a visible signal of credibility and responsible financial management. The Platinum Seal is the highest level of recognition awarded by Candid and, in 2024, fewer than 1% of US-based non-profit organizations have been recognized with the Platinum Seal.
Nonprofits can earn different levels of the Candid Seal of Transparency, including:
Bronze: The most common level, earned by nearly half of Seal holders
Silver: Earned by 19% of Seal holders
Gold: Earned by 20% of Seal holders
Platinum: Earned by less than 1% of all nonprofit organizations in the United States
To maintain their Seals, organizations must provide updated information on an annual basis.
